Vice President Academic Affairs

 

As Vice President of Academic Affairs at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, Cindy Marlow McClenagan, Ph.D., oversees all graduate and undergraduate academic programs to ensure quality and relevance.

Dr. McClenagan holds a Ph.D. in English from Texas Tech University, as well as a Master's degree from The University of Iowa, and a Bachelor's degree from Luther College. A professor of English, her research presentations and publications include the fields of African-American literature, violent women in American literature, young adult literature, and dystopian literature.

Outside of work, Dr. McClenagan enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with her family, including husband Dr. Brian McClenagan (Associate Professor of Psychology and Counseling at Wayland), and sons Kyle and Jackson. She also remains actively involved in the local community by serving as a high school band and choir booster, and as a member of service organizations associated with Soroptimist International and the First United Methodist Church.
